I would go back in time. Change what's to come. Hunting, searching for futures I've dreamed. PERSONALITYNoel Kreiss is a young man who has endured a strange variety of things in his young life. Born and raised in a small farseer tribe, Noel lived a nomadic life with very few people. Due to the events that have transpired all across the history of time, Noel has developed into a young man who is confident, intelligent, intuitive and strong. But he is also self-spoken, naïve and can be self-effacing and easily feels guilt. At first glance, Noel is confident and clever. He has a tendency to say exactly what’s on his mind regardless of how people might react to his words. He is straightforward and truthful and because of this, he can come off as cocky, sarcastic or blunt. An example of this is when Noel is trying to explain to Serah Farron and her friends about time travel, artefacts and gates he is confronted by Godot about his attitude and is not trusted for being overly confident and "full of it". He remains calm and collected when he speaks but he can come off as too frank or upfront to strangers. ”Okay, take it easy, big guy. I am not here to make trouble for anyone.” Regardless of first impressions, Noel is just an honest person who doesn’t flavour his speech and says exactly what needs to be said. Noel is perceptive as well. He is careful and likes to have an understanding before jumping in head first or making heavy decisions. Noel is deeply intuitive and keen because of this, a thinker rather than someone who will run in recklessly without a plan. Raised as a hunter, Noel is a cautious person who values safety and forethought. He asks questions when plans are made and asks for details and clarification if he does not understand something. He is also a protective person. Noel cares deeply for the people close to him. He gains attachments to others easily because of his lonely upbringing. He gravitates towards people and is often excited about new experiences and when he’s made friends he cherishes those friendships deeply. The biggest example of this is Noel’s friendship with Serah. He is only with her for a short time but as soon as he meets her he feels protective over her and responsible for her safety. He goes out of his way various times throughout their journey to protect Serah, going as far as nearly killing Caius when he goes to strike her during the conclusion. He values loyalty and sympathy towards others and dislikes dishonesty and unfair treatment. Most importantly he believes in always being with loved ones, values family and friends and always doing what is best to protect them. He says to Serah, "You know, I could never do what you two do. Staying apart and doing your own thing, even though you love each other. You never know when someone might disappear from your life. Take it from me, you have to make every moment count." Another trait Noel has is his curiosity and zest for life. Since being raised in a small village Noel hasn’t experienced many things someone else his age might have. And because of this, he sees the world as new and exciting. He is open and enthusiastic about new experiences. When he sees the mega-metropolis Academia for the first time he is amazed by the urban city and asks Serah how a city like Academia can be made. When told he replies, “They had a vision for the future and it grew from there, huh?” “Even if it can’t be completed in one lifetime, it’s still worth starting.” He enjoys seeing new places and cities and is always asking questions to learn more. He is a sponge for education and learning but can be overwhelmed easily. One of the biggest traits important to Noel as a person is his value on life and his determination to protect it. He does not believe in taking life needlessly or hurting others. Though he will not back down from a fight he will do his best not to kill anyone no matter what the circumstances are. It is this core value that shapes Noel’s beliefs on life and living. Caius Ballad, a man that was determined to have Noel kill him so Noel could inherit the Heart of Chaos and end his suffering, did everything in his power to try and have Noel fight and kill him. There is a constant struggle and pressure from Caius for Noel to do this but through everything, even the prospect of seeing Yeul again, Noel does not want to kill him and constantly refuses to. He holds human life dear and close to his heart because seeing the world die and being the last human alive has made him appreciative of every life around him. A weakness that Noel has is he tends to be incredibly hard on himself. He is insecure and easily blames himself for things even if they might be out of his control. An example of this is when Serah Farron dies he feels an immense sense of guilt even though Serah knew their actions might lead to her death and she accepted that. ”She knew the risk. If we altered the future, she knew what would happen, that her life could be in danger. But she still chose to save it. I wanted to protect her. I thought I had. I thought she was safe.” Even though they both knew what the results of their journey might be, Noel still blames himself and feels guilty for not being able to protect Serah and keep his promises to Snow and Lightning. He can also be moody and overly out-spoken or sensitive. This is because he is so straightforward that he tends to let his emotions run high at times. An example of this is when he meets Snow Villiers and he shows immense distaste for the man for being reckless and leaving a loved one behind to do his own thing. He shouts at Snow for being useless and not thinking about the people Snow is supposed to protect. He can be hotheaded and can overreact, but only because he strongly believes in his morals and core values. But it can get him into trouble sometimes. In conclusion, Noel is a person who has deeply rooted values. He is loyal, confident and tenacious. He is also moody, insecure and sensitive. He is very mature for his age but still has many things to learn and expand on as a person as he deals with the guilt of losing so many close friends. ABILITIESNoel has the ability to swap his paradigm role, abilities and skills during battle. The various roles are: ◆ Commando: An attack role that focuses on melee attacks, combos and physical strength. Noel specializes in this role. Powerchain, Lifesiphon, Launch, Ravage, Smite, Blindside, Scourge, Deathblow, Adrenaline, Blitz, Ruin, Ruinga, Meteor Javelin ◆ Ravager: A magic focused role that chains spells and uses concentrated attacks. Noel is average in this role. Fire, Blizzard, Blizzara, Blizzaga Thunder, Aero, Aerora, Aeroga, Flamestrike, Froststrike, Sparkstrike, Galestrike ◆ Sentinel: A defence based role that focuses on protecting others and drawing enmity. Noel is proficient in this role. Deathward, Fringeward, Reprieve, Provoke, Entrench, Mediguard, Element Guard ◆ Saboteur: A magic role that focuses on enfeebling enemies. Noel is weak in this role. Deprotect, Deshell, Poison, Imperil, Wound, Dispel ◆ Synergist: A supporting role that uses an array of protective and enhancing magic. Noel specializes in this role. Boon, Vigilance, Vigilaga, Protect, Protectga, Shell, Shellga, Veil, Veilga ◆ Medic: A role focused on restoring health and removing status ailments. Noel is proficient in this role. Cure, Cura, Curasa, Curaja, Esuna, Raise ◆ Hunting: Noel is a proficient hunter and is seen taking down creatures and monsters three times his size. He is skilled in setting traps, reading nature, animal behaviours and has various relevant survival skills. He is also skilled with archery as he's seen using a bow several times. He also carries a small hunting dagger on his lower back. ◆ Dual Wielding: Noel uses two weapons, a large sword in his main hand and a smaller sword in his offhand. He fights using both weapons in unison for fast maneuverability and multiple strikes. The weapons interlock together and are stored on his back. His current weapon set is the Odinblade set. ◆ Polearms: Noel is known to be proficient at fighting with polearms. His swords can be interlocked to create a large javelin. His specialty attack is called Meteor Javelin where he jumps up into the air and throws the javelin repeatedly at enemies for massive damage. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
