Fighting Squall is actually a lot like fighting Lightning, surprisingly. Both are fast and fairly light on their feet and both with those blasted gunblades. It gives Noel an advantage already having knowledge of them.
Noel fights with two blades with a mixture of fast magic and strikes laced with magic. Flamestrike, Sparkstrike, Blitz, Ruinga... Sometimes latching his weapons into a javelin to give him more brute force to push the other back.
Eventually it comes to a standstill-- No winner, no loser... Noel drops to a knee.]
[ Fighting with Noel was actually... rather thrilling. He's never had an opponent quite like him before. His attacks were quick with an added magical punch. Honestly if he didn't give it his all, he would have been screwed.
While Noel drops to a knee, Squall just flat out lets himself fall to his back, an arm covering his eyes as he lies there panting. ]
[When Squall collapses like that Noel lets himself relax, dropping his weapons to the ground.
It feels good to fight. He's always been a fighter and having a chance to just let loose and not think about anything other than the movements of his body does feel great. He's maybe mildly curious why Squall picked him for something like this but...]
Hmm. Yeah. [He says quietly to himself before also dropping to lay on his back.]
[ Squall was laughing softly to himself, finally coming off as relaxed at least a little. Normally when he spars with people they go easy on him and it annoys him to no end, but not Noel. He put his all into it, and Squall did too. It was... just great. ]
[ Squall stretched out his arms a bit, his gaze turning toward Noel. ]
Back home... I grew up in this place called Balamb Garden. It was like... partially an orphanage and partially a military school. Everything I know I learned from there.
Mmm, I'll spare you the depressing details. I think the word war has to be mentioned and anyone can really paint the picture.
[ he snorted softly, turning to look up at the sky once more. ]
She's military too, right? I remember finding that out... I thought it was kind of funny we were both military, and used a Gunblade, though hers is more hightech than mine.

That's it, then... [He's panting heavily.]

[Etro, is it weird hearing Squall laugh, though.]
You alright?

'm fine. This... was a nice head clearing experience.

Hmm. You almost look normal for once.
no subject
Almost, huh?
[ He snorts softly. He knows Noel's not wrong so he couldn't really fight it.]

[That look right there. That peaceful look. Weird.]
I don't know what got you in the mood to want to have your ass kicked but you're welcome. I guess.

It feels good to get a good fight in. I was worried I was getting rusty. Not a lot of people around her like to spar. Monsters can only go so far.

[Yeah, he does get antsy. He doesn't like fighting for no reason but keeping up with his skills is important to him.]
Where'd you learn to fight like that?

[Must have been interesting to have a whole school of teachers and instructors.]
You and Lightning have similar styles. But just a bit.
