[ There is a package waiting for him. Plain white box, red and green striped ribbon around it, and a slip that's addressed to him. There is nothing else indicating what it is or who it is from on or in it. Does he open it? Of course.

Inside is this massive thing, large enough to share with others and eat on for the next day or two. You know, if you want to.

[ So as not to be suspicious her other gift (surely the first was the real gift, right?) arrives. Several boxes stacked up, all wrapped in a foiled navy and silver snowflake giftwrap. One has a shirt with the logo of the organization she works for on it and a green, lightweight long-sleeved pullover with an alternate logo on it. Another has a lighter inside of waterproof lighter armor and a small, handsome folding knife wrapped inside of warm, rolled tactical hoodie. The last box has a tool wrap in it (complete with tools) -- a thoughtful one, considering she's aware that he does woodwork.

Not boxed or bagged is a filtration backpack/hydration pack, complete with the water bladder to tuck inside of it and a waterproof, foldable camping bag. Leaning against it is a handy hatchethawk (with sheath) of a comfortable size that could just as easily be used in a fight in addition to logging or other outdoorsy tasks.

The card is white and embossed with a snowflake on it, inside it simply says:

Happy holidays, Noel. She's signed it with Jill rather than the usual "JV".
